Get Started with Snap Studio

Set up your production console and start switching cameras in minutes

Initial Setup

1 Install Snap Studio

Download Snap Studio from the Mac App Store and open it. The app will guide you through initial permissions for camera, microphone, and local network access.

2 Connect NDI Cameras

Make sure your NDI cameras are on the same network as your Mac. Snap Studio will automatically discover available NDI sources.

3 Create a Profile

Save your camera assignments, scenes, and settings as a profile. Load it instantly for recurring events like weekly services.

Adding Camera Sources

1 Assign Cameras to Slots

In the camera panel, click each slot and select an NDI source from the dropdown. You can use PTZ cameras, DSLRs, iPhones with Snap Camera, or any NDI source.

2 Set Up Scenes

Create scene presets for different parts of your service: sermon, worship, announcements. Each scene remembers which cameras and layouts to use.

3 Enable Failsafe

Turn on automatic camera switching so the program output always has a live feed, even if an operator misses a cue or a camera goes offline.

Going Live

1 Preview Your Sources

Check each camera feed in the preview panel before going live. Verify all sources are connected and framed correctly.

2 Switch Cameras

Click a camera to cut or transition to it. The program output updates in real time for your stream or venue displays.

3 Use Walkie Talkie

Hold the push-to-talk button to communicate with remote camera operators running Snap Camera on their iPhones.
